how's IJ working for you?
with the latest bout of stupidity at LJ, i'm looking more seriously to move. have you been happy here, or are you finding yourself moving to another service? is the IJ management behaving with more of a clue?

i'd appreciate any feedback you'd like to share.

I like it here. When there's an outage, [info]squeaky updates his twitter (http://twitter.com/insanejournal) with a running commentary on repairs. My flist is much less active, so I read my flist here all the time and my lj list erratically (like when I'm procrastinating or at my day job).

[info]dragonkal and I have talked about the change in fannish culture over here, with no real conculsions, except that things feel different. People seem calmer, and to take things more slowly. There's still hilarious wank, of course, but you can dodge it.

Our own little fandom doesn't have a strong presence here, though, so I don't know how that will feel. It's not worried me; there're RSS feeds running to here from the comms, and I'm mostly writing original fic anyway.

What did it for me, what made me move, was the flagging tag on lj. That was what broke it for me.

I rarely come over here, normally just to catch up on chaosmanor, whom I adore.

Yeah, me too. Most other people cross post to LJ , so I read their posts there.

The system here is missing some of the nice new bells and whistles of LJ, like tracking and editing comments. But it's been stable and reasonably fast, and squeaky seems to be a mensch. He talks to us, he asks questions like "would you rather have the bugfix and then the features, or wait for the features?". Pretty much everyone on that comm said bugfix first, and that's what he did. Nice change.

I don't know whether this is a long-run alternative, but at the moment, it feels more restful than LJ. But I'm on the fence, still, because of friendships over there. So I cross-post nearly everything, and will be doing more community posting here.

I can say that I only look after Elaine's stuff and abudantlyqueers...and if LJ is down ;)

Due to recent wangake on many sides it is starting to look nicer....but as if more and more people will come here I think the problems will come too :/

Meh, not a nice week in fandom indeed ....

I joined ij because of chaosmanor...I love her work and didn't want to miss anything! But with all the problems in lj, it might be the best way to go. *hugs*
